Scouts headed down to Thornthwaite Scout Campsite for this years winter camp. Thornthwaite, operated by Harrogate scouts is an ideal setting for a weekend camp where the main objective is to give our younger scouts a taste of being in tents and brushing up on those key scouting skills!

Scouts decanted on Thornthwaite on Friday evening with an unexpected dusting of snow, making the site a little tricky to get into and adding to the excitement of the 17 scouts attending.

Over the weekend we took part in fire-lighting, axe and saw work and had a session of tree climbing on Saturday afternoon.

There was mud, snow, mud and more mud, but all scouts attending had a blast.
