WINTER CAMP IS COMING, ARE YOU READY?
Winter Camp is happening from 6th – 8th January and as with the last time we are expecting it to be cold so please ensure you check the kit list on this page and get in touch if you have any questions.
The consent forms for the event are below, please complete them and send to Slimer by post so we have them before the event. Alternatively, hand sign and scan in forms and send to us on our usual email address. We apologise that the forms have not come out until now but the event organisers have just sent them out to us. Since posting this on 17th December I have received forms from 3 people out of 21.
There are a variety of activities available over the weekend for scouts to have a go at. We will encourage scouts to have a go at as many as possible but due to the nature of the weekend and the amount of young people attending it may or may not be possible to do every single one so we would advise scouts to plan ahead. There are several consent forms to fill in, some activities have their own individual consent forms so please fill them all in.
Scouts should be prepared for adverse weather and have realistic expectations. Although it’s impossible to know what the weather will be like 3 weeks in advance, scouts should be prepared to be in a tent and camping with a high chance of snow.
Those scouts who ordered the branded merch for the event, will receive it at the event on the Friday night.
Please meet at the scout hut on Friday 6th January where we will go to camp by minibus . Please meet at the scout hut at 18:00 for a 18:15 departure. Please travel in scout shirt and necker with sensible lower half. (not jeans!) Trainers should be worn for travel with boots handy to change into once we arrive at the campsite.
Scouts can take pocket money if desired. There is usually a small gift shop, tuck shop and sometimes a stand selling chips/sausages or similar. Money is absolutely optional and not required for the event but the majority of young people attending will probably have money with them.
At the bottom there is some additional information sent by the event organisers including a map of the event. Anyone with any questions please drop an email to us otherwise we will be in touch in January.
